Attend This Spectacular Visionary Of Classical Dance Forms From Various Parts Of Country

The country of diversity that is India, brings with itself not just one kind of culture and ethnicity, but each direction, and each state of the country has a culture of it’s own that is diverse from it’s counterparts and yet has bits of similarities between each other.

The expression of Culture comes out in the some or the other form of Art, and one art form that has always been around in the Indian culture since it’s establishment is Dance. While the art of dance from the state of Himalayas will differ from the Dance form from Kerala, the core expression remains the same.

One might think with the change in times, and such infiltration of modernization in every nook and corner of life and art, people might have forgotten the traditional Cultural dance forms, but art is something that will stay on for ever. In respect to these dance forms, the “Sankhya Dance Company” is touring around the city bringing with itself various dance forms to present to the masses.

Mumbai will be celebrating it’s 7th edition of ‘Sindhu Classical dance Festival’, a distinguished 3-days festival that will be held from 13th April to 15th April. A signature fetsival that celebrates classical dance with it’s ideologies, immerses the audience in it’s artistic space. Started with the motive of giving sheer joy of classical dance forms, the festival is spearheaded and curated by the creative duo Shri Vaibhav Karekar and Shri Sushant Jadhav.

Talking about the festival Shri Vaibhav Arekar/ Shri Sushant Jadhav-Directors said, “Since past six years this festival has attracted many professional dancers, dance students and dance lovers due to its exclusive yet spectacular performances. In this 7th edition, we bring together traditional performances of classical dance styles from all corners of India. This year we have moved across cities and planned to host this festival in Thane as well as we hosted it in Pune in March. Our motive is to move around to as many places as possible and reach out to maximum rasikas. Sindhu has not only been mesmerizing rasikas but has also kept them waiting for the next season. It has been a direct hotspot for conducting workshops, lecture-demonstrations along with dance talks with eminent artists.”

Founded by Vaibhav Arekar in 2009 ‘Sankhya’ came as a natural extension of his artistic vision to have a company of dancers who engage and invest purely in dance performance. Today Sankhya is recognized as a premier Dance Company based in Mumbai. Needless to say, Sankhya’s artists practice dance as a way of life.
