The New York Film Academy brings it’s world renowned programs to Mumbai, with the 8-week Film-making, 4-week Film-making & 4-week Acting for Film workshops starting from from October 30, 2017.
Bollywood’s base location and birthplace is our city of Mumbai. The city has a crucial investment in the position Bollywood is today. Bollywood is considered as the biggest Film industry throughout the world and the Stars of On & Off screen are known and praised throughout the world.
The metropolis’ blend of architectural styles, rich and lively cultural history, and positioning on the Indian coast make it an ideal backdrop for filming. Students in NYFA’s short-term programs offer focused learning, hands-on film production, and the opportunity to make a fully-realized final film. While taking workshops in Mumbai, students will deepen their understanding and connection to Indian culture through the imaginative processes of film-making and acting for film.
8 & 4-Week Filmmaking Workshop
The 8 & 4-Week Filmmaking Workshop in Mumbai gives students a combination of in-class instruction and hands-on production of increasingly complex short films. Students work in three to four person crews in rotation so that they experience the full breadth of work that goes into the filmmaking process. Special classes are taught so students learn how to properly use the equipment, which includes HDSLR cameras, Lowel lighting, and digital editing systems. Following post-production, students will screen their fully realized work to their classmates and instructors.
4-Week Acting for Film Workshop
The 4-Week Acting for Film Workshop provides students with a strong foundation of acting skills with a focus on acting for film. The month-long program is convenient but full-time and intensive enough to provide a basis for beginners or added training and nuance for experienced actors and actresses. Elements of the class include Stanislavski’s System, scene study, monologue work, as well as technical aspects involved on set.
